Eye-level view of church sanctuary with warm sunlight streaming through stained glass windows

Welcome to a fresh issue of LHF This Week. After enduring more than two weeks of deep freeze, we finally have a forecast promising warmer temperatures. This welcome change will help us thaw out and enjoy the coming days with renewed energy. It was also a blessing to return to worship services this week after a weather-related pause. In this edition, you will find a weekend wrap-up, updates on our prayer list, the latest calendar events, and a heartfelt thank you from our Food Ministry team.

Weekend Wrap-up

Returning to worship after a two-week break felt like a breath of fresh air for our community. The cold weather forced us to cancel services, but this weekend brought us back together with warmth and fellowship. Pastors Chris and Derek shared stories from their recent mission trip to the Philippines, giving us a glimpse into the lives and faith of the people they met.

They also presented an overview video that captured key moments of the trip. This visual journey helped everyone experience a small part of the mission firsthand. The message centered on the theme of giving God your whole heart. Whether through prayer, financial support, or physically going on missions, each person has a role to play.

Check out the video presentation of the trip here.

This Week’s Calendar

Here are the upcoming events to mark on your calendar:

Tuesday Evening at 6:30 pm

Women’s Bible Study continues with the book of 1 John. All women are welcome to join this study held in the church’s front foyer classroom. It’s a great opportunity to deepen your faith and connect with others.

Wednesday Evening at 6:30 pm

Boys 2 Men and Girls 2 Women will meet at the church. Please sign up in advance so we can prepare enough food.

- For Boys 2 Men RSVP, contact Don Flynn (859-983-6721)

- For Girls 2 Women, RSVP to Tandy Flynn (859-983-6723)

Girls 2 Women will focus on organizing their vision for the year and enjoy some activities and crafts. Meanwhile, the guys will have their own time with “guy stuff.”

Friday Morning at 7:00 am

The Men’s Bible Study group will gather at Panera Bread in Brannon Crossing. They will continue their study through the book of Acts. This early morning session offers a great way to start the day with fellowship and spiritual growth.

Senior Lunch Update The February Senior Lunch has been postponed due to the frigid weather and bad road conditions, we will resume our normally planned lunch the second Monday of March.

Praise Report

We celebrate the joy of welcoming Liam Coffey to church for the first time this week. It’s always encouraging to see new faces joining our community and growing in faith together.

We were also glad to welcome John Gill back after his long illness. It. is wonderful to see him back on his feet!

A Thank You from the Food Box Ministry Team

Our Food Box Ministry team extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported their efforts during the recent cold spell. Your continued donations, volunteer hours, and prayers have made a significant difference in reaching those in need. The box was definitely a hot commodity during the past several weeks and we are grateful for the opportunity to minister in this way to our community. The team is excited to continue serving as the weather warms, and thanks you in advance for your continued donations.

That's all for this week! We look forward to seeing you at one of our Bible Studies or youth events this week and for church service on Sunday!
