LHF This Week: June 22-29, 2026

Welcome to a brand-new week here at LHF! With this past Sunday marking both Father's Day and the longest day of the year, we are officially in the heart of summer. We hope all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures in our church family had a wonderful, restful day celebrating with loved ones. As the days stay bright and long, we are looking forward with anticipation to everything God has in store for our community. In this week's issue, we take a moment to reflect on Sunday's powerful message and look ahead to our upcoming gatherings and prayer focuses.

Sunday Worship Recap: The Blessing of Holy Fear

Father’s Day always gives us a beautiful opportunity to reflect on the goodness of our Heavenly Father, and that is exactly where our hearts were directed during worship this past weekend.

Pastor Chris continued his current series, Walking in the Fear of the Lord, teaching out of the book of Psalms. This week, his focus turned to the incredibly positive results that come from a heart that fears the Lord properly.

While the word "fear" often carries a negative connotation in our world, healthy fear of our Heavenly Father is entirely different. Instead of driving us away, a proper, reverent fear of God produces a much closer relationship with Him. It is a profound awe that compels us to true, continuous worship—a lifestyle marked by a joyful obedience to the One who loves us more than we could ever fathom.

“The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.” — Psalm 25:14

Behind the Ministry: Thank You for the Bottles!

We want to extend a massive, heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Baby Bottle Blessings Fundraiser for the Assurance Pregnancy Center!

This initiative is the single largest fundraiser for Assurance, accounting for roughly 75% of their total annual operating budget. Because of your incredible generosity, they can continue providing vital resources, counseling, and medical services to families in need. Every single coin, dollar, and check placed in those bottles goes a long way toward making a tangible, life-affirming difference right here in Central Kentucky.

Community Prayer Focus

Please carry these individuals, ministries, and requests in your heart and prayers this week:

  • South Africa Mission Team: Continue to lift up Rob Coffey, Elizabeth Estes, and the rest of our short-term team as they minister on the ground in South Africa. Pray for safety, strength, and fruitful ministry alongside our partner, Koos Basson, and the ministry of IMD Africa.

  • Assurance Pregnancy Center: Now that the physical bottles are in, please pray for the ongoing financial provision of this ministry. Pray that God expands their resources and gives the staff wisdom as they serve vulnerable mothers and families.

  • Archie Falin: Please keep Archie in your prayers for continued health, comfort, and physical strength.

  • Wilma Chaney: Pray for a smooth, swift, and complete recovery for Wilma as she heals from recent knee surgery.

  • Our Youth Preparing for Camp: Church camp is just a few weeks away! Please begin praying right now for our youth. Pray that their hearts would be softened and prepared to encounter the Holy Spirit, and that they would draw significantly closer to Jesus during their time away.

Have a Great Week!

As we step into the days ahead, let's carry the truth of Sunday's message with us. May our hearts be filled with a healthy, beautiful reverence for our Heavenly Father—a holy awe that turns our everyday routines into acts of joyful worship. In the midst of your busy summer schedules, take time to lean into His presence and enjoy the closeness He freely offers to His children. Have a wonderful, blessed week, LHF family, and we look forward to seeing you in fellowship throughout the week and back together for worship next Sunday!
