LHF This Week September 13 20 Fall Updates and Anniversary Preview

September has reached the halfway point, and fall is starting to feel close, even if the warmer temperatures have not fully moved on. For some, the season is already in full swing with fuller calendars, familiar rhythms, and plenty to look forward to at church.

This edition of LHF This Week brings a little bit of all of that. We have a look back at a fun senior outing, a worship recap from Sunday, several calendar updates, an anniversary reminder, and a few prayer needs to keep before the Lord.

Our seniors enjoyed lunch at Blue Licks Battlefield State Park

This past Wednesday, our seniors had a great monthly Senior Lunch trip to Blue Licks Battlefield State Park.

A dozen packed into the church van for the hour-long drive and enjoyed a delicious meal at one of Kentucky’s most beautiful state resort parks. It was a sweet time of fellowship, conversation, and enjoying the beauty of the area together.

The day also included an extra treat on the way home. The group stopped at the Rock Cafe in Paris for ice cream, which made a good trip even better.

These monthly gatherings are simple in the best way. They give our seniors time to connect, laugh, share a meal, and get out together. We are grateful for everyone who helped make the trip possible and for the friendships that continue to grow through these lunches.

Sunday worship reminded us that God fights for His people

Worship this past Sunday was filled with the Spirit of the Lord as we continued looking at spiritual warfare and the unmatched power and strength of our God.

Pastor Derek picked up where Pastor Chris left off the week before. The message focused on the assured victory we have in Christ as we stand against our enemy. Scripture gives us a clear and repeated picture of God fighting for His people. He is not distant from our battles, and He does not leave His children to stand in their own strength.

The sermon walked through many moments in the Bible where God fought on behalf of His people. Again and again, we see that the Lord provides what His people need, leads them according to His plan, and shows His power in ways they could not produce on their own.

That truth gives the church steady confidence. Our confidence is not in our own wisdom, ability, or courage. It is in the strength, provision, and plan of God.

As we continue thinking about spiritual warfare, we can hold fast to this promise. In Christ, victory is not wishful thinking. It is secured by the One who has already overcome.

The Men’s Bible Study continues its study through Acts, gathering early Friday morning at Panera in Brannon Crossing. It is a great opportunity for men to spend time in the Word before the day begins.

The Women’s Bible Study will meet next Tuesday evening at the church. These gatherings continue to be a meaningful space for study, encouragement, and connection.

And of course, Anniversary Sunday is getting closer.

Anniversary Sunday is coming on October 4

Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 4, as LHF celebrates a special milestone together.

Anniversary Sunday will begin with an Open House at 9:15 a.m., followed by the Worship Service at 10:15 a.m. Later that evening, the celebration will continue with the 25th Anniversary Farm Party at 5:30 p.m.

This will be a full day of worship, gratitude, stories, memories, and fellowship. Twenty-five years is a meaningful milestone, and it is right to pause and give thanks for the faithfulness of God.

Church anniversaries are not only about looking back. They also help us remember why we move forward. Every photo, every story, every shared memory points to people God has gathered, changed, comforted, taught, and sent.

Memory boards are needed for the anniversary celebration

As we prepare for the Anniversary Celebration, we need your help.

If you have pictures you would like to share as part of this special milestone, please consider creating a memory board and bringing it with you. The hope is to line the sanctuary with memory boards during the Open House on October 4.

These boards can help tell the story of LHF through the years. They might include photos from worship services, small groups, children’s events, mission moments, church picnics, baptisms, friendships, and everyday memories that show God’s goodness in the life of the church.

If you would like a board, please reach out to office@lhfellowship.com, and one will be ready for you this Sunday.

Even a small group of photos can be meaningful. The goal is not perfection. The goal is to remember together and give thanks.

Check your calendar, make plans where you can, and keep praying for one another. Most of all, give thanks for the God who fights for His people, sustains His church, and remains faithful from generation to generation.
