It's The Most Wonderful Week of the Year
Welcome to this Christmas edition of LHF This Week as we celebrate Christmas week, the fourth week of Advent. During this time, we reflect on the profound love of God in sending Jesus into the world, the greatest gift of redemption and salvation. Although our schedule may be a bit lighter this week, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a wonderful Christmas this Thursday. In this issue, you'll find a recap of our Sunday service, important reminders about upcoming events, and links to Christmas letters from some of our missionaries. May this season fill your hearts with joy and gratitude!
Kids & Youth Celebrate Christmas in Style
This past week at LHF was filled with excitement as our Children and Youth invaded GattiTown for their annual Christmas Bash on Wednesday night. The event featured mountains of pizza and delicious monkey bread, fueling the kids for a night of fun. After enjoying their feast, the children took to the Midway, where they played various games and racked up a bunch of tickets and prizes. The atmosphere was vibrant, and everyone had a fantastic time. A special thanks goes out to the Rayans for organizing this wonderful event!
Sunday's Worship Service Wrap-up
This past Sunday, we joyfully kicked off the fourth week of Advent with a meaningful worship service centered on the theme of God's Love, emphasizing His gift of salvation and redemption. The worship team led us in uplifting songs of the season, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Pastor Derek reflected on the account of the Magi in Matthew 2, who journeyed from the East to worship Jesus, the King of Kings. In this story, we also find important truths about the nature of the Gospel message. It is a message for all nations, all classes of people, and all time. We also observed the Lord's Supper together, marking the occasion with a heartfelt acknowledgment of the true meaning of Christmas.
We unfortunately experienced a slight power outage during the service which cut off our livestream and recording, so we were unable to get a video or audio of this week's message. You can still view the service up to the point of the power outage at our Facebook page.
