Welcome to another issue of LHF This Week! It has been a long, cold week, and the harsh winter weather has forced us to cancel yet another church service this past Sunday. We are praying for warmer days ahead and a return to our usual rhythm of fellowship and worship. In this edition, you will find important calendar updates, a prayer list to keep our community connected in spirit, and other helpful information to keep you informed and engaged. Let’s dive in and stay connected despite the chill.
Weekend Wrapup
This past Sunday, the elders made the difficult decision to cancel the worship service due to icy and dangerous road conditions. Grace Drive, the main route to the church, is a low priority for snow clearing and plowing. This left the road deeply rutted and treacherous, especially considering the number of vehicles that would have been on the road at once when the service ended.
The elders did not take this decision lightly. Their priority is always the safety and well-being of our congregation. We are grateful for their wisdom and care in making this call. While we missed gathering together, we look forward to next Sunday when we can finally come together again. Pastors Chris and Derek are preparing to share their report on their recent mission trip to the Philippines, which promises to be an inspiring update.
Calendar Updates
Following the cancellation of Sunday’s service, all weekly gatherings scheduled for this week at the church have been postponed to the following week. Please mark your calendars accordingly:
Women’s Bible Study will meet next Tuesday evening, February 10.
Boys 2 Men will gather next Wednesday evening, February 11.
Girls 2 Women will also meet next Wednesday evening, February 11.
Our Men’s Bible Study will continue as planned this Friday. The group will meet at Panera in Brannon Crossing, which remains accessible despite the weather.
Please keep an eye on weather updates and church communications for any further changes.
Prayer List
Our community remains strong through prayer. Please join us in lifting up these specific needs this week:
John Gill: Pray for continued health and strength as he faces ongoing challenges.
Archie Falin: Keep Archie in your prayers for sustained health and resilience.
Miles Gullett: Miles has special prayer needs at this time; your support means a lot.
Word of Life Camps, Paraguay: The camp season is in its final weeks. Pray for safety, spiritual growth, and fruitful ministry.
Pastors Chris and Derek: As they prepare their mission trip report, pray for clarity, wisdom, and encouragement.
Prayer is a powerful way to stay connected and support one another, especially when we cannot meet in person.
Looking Ahead
We are hopeful for warmer weather and safer roads in the coming days. Our hearts are set on gathering again next Sunday to worship, learn, and share fellowship. The mission trip report from Pastors Chris and Derek will be a highlight, offering a glimpse into the work being done abroad and how it touches lives.
Until then, stay safe, stay warm, and keep each other in your thoughts and prayers. We are a community that thrives on connection, faith, and care, no matter the weather.
Thank you for being part of LHF. We look forward to seeing you soon.
