Welcome back to another issue of LHF This Week! After a two-week break, we’re excited to reconnect with our Living Hope Fellowship family. It’s been a chilly time here in Lexington, with snowflakes falling like little blessings from heaven and temperatures dropping low enough to make even the warmest hearts shiver. We hope you’ve all been keeping cozy and safe during this frosty spell. In this issue, you’ll find updates on recent events, news from our church family, prayer requests, and a look ahead to upcoming gatherings. So grab a warm drink, bundle up, and let’s dive into all the latest from Living Hope Fellowship.
Weekend Wrapup: Snow, Ice, and Safety First
This past weekend, Mother Nature really turned up the chill, blanketing Lexington in a thick layer of snow and ice. The winter storm brought extreme freezing temperatures that made travel and outdoor activities risky. Because of these conditions, we made the tough but necessary decision to cancel our weekly worship service. While we missed seeing everyone in person, safety was our top priority.
We hope you stayed warm and snug, perhaps enjoying some hot cocoa or a good book by the fire. We’re praying for clear skies and safer roads so we can come together again this Sunday. Pastors Chris and Derek are eager to share updates and photos from their recent mission trip to the Philippines, which promises to be a heartwarming highlight of our next gathering.
Thanks to Our Elders for Their Dedication
We are truly blessed to have a committed team of elders at Living Hope Fellowship who step up whenever needed. A big thank you goes to Don Flynn and Dennis Swanson for filling in with preaching duties while our pastors were away. Their messages kept our spirits lifted and our faith strong.
Paul Myers also deserves special recognition for his excellent work as Service Host, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Beyond their regular roles, our elders closely monitored the weather and parking lot conditions over the weekend. Their careful attention and timely decisions helped keep everyone safe by guiding the cancellation of services.
Prayer List: Lifting Up Our Church Family and Community
Prayer remains a cornerstone of our fellowship, especially during challenging times. Please join us in lifting up these specific needs:
Lee Whisman Family
Mike’s brother, Lee, passed away this past Wednesday. We ask for comfort and peace for his family as they navigate this difficult loss.
Those Without Power
Thousands of people are still without electricity due to the storm. Pray for warmth, safety, and quick restoration of power.
John Gill
John continues to improve after his recent hospital stay. Let’s keep praying for his full recovery and strength.
Paraguay Missions
Jose Acevedo and the Word of Life Camps are actively ministering in Paraguay. Pray for a harvest of souls and that many teens will draw closer to Christ through this ministry.
Upcoming Events: Mark Your Calendars
Even as winter keeps us bundled up, our fellowship continues to grow and connect through study and prayer. Here’s what’s coming up:
Men’s Bible Study
This Friday at 7 a.m.
Location: Panera Bread, Brannon Crossing
Start your day with fellowship and scripture in a warm, welcoming setting.
Women’s Bible Study

Join us for an evening of study, prayer, and encouragement.
These gatherings are great opportunities to deepen your faith and build relationships within our church family. We hope to see you there!
Staying Warm in Spirit and Body
As the snow piles up outside, let’s remember that the warmth of our community and faith can melt even the coldest days. While the weather has kept us apart physically, it has not chilled our spirits. We look forward to the day when we can all gather again in person, sharing stories, laughter, and worship.
Until then, stay safe, stay warm, and keep each other in your prayers. Whether you’re shoveling snow or sipping tea by the window, know that you are part of a caring fellowship that holds you close in heart and prayer.
We can’t wait to see you this Sunday and hear about the inspiring mission trip to the Philippines. Let’s keep the warmth of Living Hope Fellowship glowing bright through this winter season.
