Welcome to another edition of LHF This Week! As July winds down, we're here to bring you all the latest news from Living Hope. In this issue, you'll find updates on last week's events, a recap of this past Sunday's worship service, this week's prayer list, and information on upcoming events and special services.
Week in Review
Last week was a busy and blessed one at Living Hope! Our Women's Ministry enjoyed a delightful evening at DayCrest Flower Farm this past Monday. They spent time picking and arranging flowers, all while sharing wonderful fellowship. A big thank you to all the ladies who attended and to Tandy Flynn for organizing such a special event.
Our men also gathered this past Saturday for a Men's Breakfast, complete with a time of shared Bible study. We're grateful to Pastors Chris and Derek for their culinary skills in preparing the meal!
Additionally, a dedicated team of volunteers showed up Saturday morning to help beautify our church grounds. They worked hard to weed and mulch the flowerbeds around the church and playground area. Thank you for helping us keep our facility looking its best!
Sunday Worship Wrap-up
Even with some familiar faces missing this past Sunday, the spirit of worship and fellowship was strong as we gathered for our weekly service. Pastor Derek led us into Luke Chapter 17, focusing on four core values of the Kingdom of God.
As Jesus journeyed to Jerusalem with His disciples, He taught them what truly matters in life and how God intends for His followers to live. In contrast to the world's "shadow kingdoms," which are broken by sin and built on fleeting foundations like money, pleasure, power, and fame, Jesus showed us that the Kingdom of God is built on much deeper substance. He highlighted values such as forgiveness, service, gratitude, and an eternal focus.
If you missed the service, you can catch up on the sermon on our website, podcast, or YouTube channel. Pastor Derek will conclude his look at the two final values this coming Sunday.
