Welcome!
Welcome to LHF This Week, your weekly update on all the happenings at our church! We're so glad you're here to catch up on what God is doing among us, celebrate answered prayers, and discover ways you can connect and grow. Whether you were with us on Sunday or are catching up from afar, we hope this newsletter encourages you and keeps you informed about the life of our church family.
Sunday Wrap-up
This past Sunday, Pastor Chris led us through a thought-provoking message from Luke 16, exploring the parable of the unjust manager. He highlighted a crucial truth: as believers, we're called to view life differently from the world. Our lives, and everything in them, should be managed for the glory of God. We were reminded of the vital importance of living with an eternal perspective, recognizing that this life isn't all there is—there's so much more beyond it. If you missed the service or want to revisit the message, you can find it on our website, as a podcast, or on YouTube.
Youth Campers Arrived Safe & Sound!
Sunday was also a big travel day for our Youth! After the service, they headed to Laurel Lake Baptist Association Camp in Corbin. Please continue to pray for the 24 students and 2 counselors from LHF, along with the over 200 other campers and counselors. We've already received exciting news: one student made the decision to trust Christ as Savior on the first night! Our LHF kids are, as always, representing our church well in all activities and events. They are due to return around 1 PM on Friday. Let's pray for an amazing and life-impacting week for all of them.
Welcome Back Africa Mission Team
We were thrilled to welcome Debbie Major and Elizabeth Estes home from their recent mission trip to South Africa! Debbie and Elizabeth spent nearly three weeks with our mission partner, Koos Basson, assisting with VBS and working with school children, among other ministry opportunities. Debbie and Elizabeth plan to share details and a video of their trip this coming Sunday, so be sure to join us and hear all about their experiences!
This Week
This week is a bit more relaxed regarding events around the church. Our Men's Bible Study will resume after the July 4th break, meeting this Friday at 7 AM at the Panera in Brannon Crossing. The guys are currently studying the book of Romans. All are welcome to join!
Prayer List
In addition to praying for our kids at camp this week, let's also remember the following in our prayers:
Michael Whisman: In hospice at the VA on Leestown Rd.
Esther Martin: Amy Holt's Aunt, recovering from a recent fall.
Chris Neal: Recovery from stroke.
Archie Falin: Recovery from hospital stay.
Texas Flood Victims: Pray for the families and those still working on rescue efforts.
Leatherman Family: Traveling.
As we navigate this week, let's carry the eternal perspective Pastor Chris spoke of with us. May we continue to manage our lives for God's glory and live with the hope of what lies beyond. We pray for a blessed and peaceful week for you and your family.
