LHF This Week: May 11-18, 2025

Weekly Wrapup

What a vibrant and busy week it's been here at LHF!

  • Our Girls 2 Women ministry had their monthly gathering this past Wednesday. They continued their insightful study through Priscilla Shirer's "Defined" series, fostering deeper connections and spiritual growth. The evening was made even more special with a delicious Mexican-themed meal. A huge thank you to all who came out and participated!

  • Friday was a bustling day around LHF. The Classical Conversations Homeschool Cooperative chapter closed out their year with a wonderful presentation showcasing all their studies. It was a packed house, filled with proud families, and many of our own LHF kids and teens were featured prominently in the program. Please join us in prayer for all the students as they transition into their summer break!

  • On Friday night, our Boys 2 Men ministry met out at Kerry and Debbie Majors' farm for a night of fun, fellowship, and camping! It sounds like a truly great time was had by everyone, and the group even had the chance to extend some LHF hospitality to guests who visited for the event.

Sunday in Review

  • This past Sunday was Mother's Day, and it was a joy to see several guests in attendance at our worship service, joining their moms for this special day.

  • Pastor Derek delivered a powerful message from Luke 10:38-42, the timeless story of Mary and Martha. He reminded us of the profound importance of navigating the busyness of life by prioritizing time resting in Jesus' presence, just as Mary chose. It is truly the "better choice."

  • If you missed it, or would like to revisit the message, you can listen at our website or watch on our YouTube channel.

Coming Up This Week

Baby Bottle Blessings Drive

  • Mother's Day also marked the kickoff of Assurance For Life's annual fundraiser! Assurance is a vital ministry dedicated to reaching families facing crisis pregnancies, offering pre and post-natal care, counseling services, adoption assistance, and much more.

  • If you'd like to participate and support their incredible work, please grab a baby bottle available at the church and fill it with change, cash, or checks between now and Father's Day. If you prefer to donate online, you can visit assuranceforlife.org/donate.

Blessing Day This Sunday!

  • Don't forget about our Annual Blessing Day coming up this Sunday, May 18th! This is our special annual day where we receive an offering that goes directly to bless our missionary partners and also helps with assistance around the church. In years past, we have witnessed amazing generosity, and we are praying for the same spirit this year. Our goal is to be able to bless each of our four major mission partners with at least $3,500.00 as an annual bonus to their ministries. Please pray this week as to how the Lord would lead you to participate.

  • We are also eagerly looking forward to a wonderful time of fellowship and celebration after the worship service. We'll be having a cookout potluck! The church will provide grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and we are asking families to provide a shared potluck dish to round out the sides. If you weren't able to sign up for a dish on Sunday, please contact Brittany Rayan this week to see what needs remain.

  • Also, make sure to pack your lawn chair with you as you head to church Sunday! We'll also have some games and other activities set up for everyone to enjoy. It's going to be a great time for our church family to connect and celebrate!

This week's prayer list

Please join us in prayer for the following members of our church family and their loved ones:

  • Mike Whisman: Continuing Chemo treatments.

  • Lee Whisman: Came home from the hospital. Pray for continued healing and recovery.

  • Archie Falin: Pray for continued health and well-being.

That's all for this week. Have a great one, and we will see you Sunday for Blessing Sunday. If you have any needs this week, or have a prayer need, please reach out to us.
