Here is your weekly newsletter for LHF This Week, covering May 18-25, 2025.

Great Blessings Sunday Yesterday!

Our annual Blessings Sunday was held yesterday, and we had a great service and celebration afterward. Blessings Sunday is a day set aside on the church calendar to pause, reflect, and celebrate the incredible blessings God has given us. We believe that as we are blessed, we should be a blessing to others.

Our worship team led us well yesterday with songs centered on the goodness and faithfulness of God. Pastor Derek brought the message from Luke 11:14-36, reminding us just how much of a blessing we have in Jesus. He has provided us power over the darkness, He has given us His Word to guide us in truth, He has given us the Gospel message to share, and He has given us His light to shine to all the world.

Pastor Derek mentioned that when we are mindful of God's blessings, it makes us grateful, and gratitude results in generosity. Our annual Blessings offering surpassed our goal this year, which will help to provide substantial bonus support to our four mission partners in India, Paraguay, South Africa, and the Philippines, as well as some local needs in our community and state recently affected by the tornadoes this weekend.

After the service, we had a great cookout and time of fellowship. Thanks to our events team for organizing everything and to our grill masters, Pat Rayome, Jamal Rayan, and Royce Bugg, for some amazing burgers and hot dogs! Congratulations to Chris and Jonah Shepherd, champions of this year's cornhole tournament!

All in all, a great day at church yesterday!
