LHF This Week: May 24-31, 2026

Welcome

Welcome to another edition of LHF This Week! It has certainly been a soggy stretch across Central Kentucky lately, and it looks like the rainy pattern isn’t finished with us just yet! We hope the wet weather didn’t wash out too many of your Memorial Day plans yesterday and that you were still able to enjoy some meaningful time with family and friends while remembering those who gave so much in service to our country. Even with the clouds and rain, there’s plenty of sunshine in the life of our church family, and we’re looking forward to another wonderful week together at Living Hope. Here’s a look back at this past weekend along with everything coming up around LHF!

Sunday Recap

It may have been wet outside this past Sunday, but that certainly didn’t dampen the spirit of worship and generosity during our Annual Blessing Sunday Celebration!

Pastor Derek wrapped up our four-week series through the book of Ruth by looking at one of the most beautiful “happily ever after” endings found anywhere in Scripture. Throughout the series, we’ve seen the powerful gospel parallels woven through the story’s characters and events. In chapter 4, Boaz and Ruth overcome every obstacle before them through the providential hand of God and are married, eventually producing a son, Obed, who would become the grandfather of King David.

Naomi’s story also comes full circle as she is redeemed from the bitterness and despair that followed her decision to leave God’s land for Moab years earlier — losing her husband and sons along the way — to now being lovingly restored as grandmother to Obed and seeing her husband’s land redeemed and restored.

Boaz’s redeeming love for Ruth beautifully reminds us of the way Christ loves us. Jesus fights for us, redeems our past, welcomes us into His family, and gives us an entirely new future. We closed the series by reflecting on the truth that God is always relentlessly working His loving plan of redemption in our lives.

It has truly been a heartwarming four weeks studying together how perfectly God loves His people. If you missed any messages in the series, you can catch up through our website, YouTube page, or Facebook.

Blessing Offering Exceeds Expectations

After service, the church quickly transformed from worship center to dining hall as many hands jumped in to help prepare for our indoor cook-in due to the rain. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch together thanks to our grill masters and all the amazing cooks who brought delicious sides and dishes to share!

As everyone fellowshipped together, our counting team got to work tallying this year’s Blessing Offering. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the Lord’s goodness and the generosity of our church family. We are excited to report that this year’s offering exceeded expectations with more than $35,000 raised!

These funds will go toward our upcoming parking lot repair project as well as helping support special mission projects through our ministry partners around the world. Thank you to everyone who prayed, gave, served, and helped make Blessing Sunday such a meaningful success!
