We had a great time together this past weekend, gathering as a church family to worship our Lord! As we look forward to the week ahead, there are some great opportunities for fellowship and growth that we can't wait to share with you.
In this edition of LHF This Week, you'll find a recap of Sunday's service, details on several fun gatherings coming up, our weekly prayer list, and more.
This Past Weekend In Review
Boys 2 Men Campout Was A Blast!
A big thank you to Don Flynn and Pastor Chris for organizing and hosting this year's Fall Boys 2 Men Campout this past Friday and Saturday. Our boys had a great time!
Sunday Was Sweet!
We had such a wonderful time together this past Sunday as we gathered for our weekly worship. It was great to see close to a full house in the morning worship service, even with some members away ill or traveling. We also welcomed some guests, which is always an exciting sign of new people joining us in worship!
Pastor Derek looked at Luke 22, where we saw the betrayal of Christ at the hand of Judas Iscariot as well as Peter's denial of being a follower of Jesus. In His greatest hour of need, two of His closest followers failed Him immensely. Pastor Derek pointed to the reality that all of us are sinners and have failed the Lord more than once. But by looking at Judas and Peter's response to their failure, we learn that how we respond to that failure makes all the difference in the eyes of the Lord. Judas descended into despair, while Peter found mercy, grace, and forgiveness in response to his heartfelt repentance. Throughout Scripture, we are reminded that God responds to a broken and contrite heart that is set on following Him, even in spite of our many failures.

Upcoming Events This Week
Seniors, Let's Do Lunch!
Our Senior Lunch will move to this Tuesday instead of the normal Monday date. We will meet at the church at 11:00 AM to ride together in our new church van out to the beautiful home of Royce and Rita Bugg in Paris. The Bugg's always have a delicious meal prepared for us. We look forward to the fellowship and feast together!
Youth Gathering This Wednesday
Our Youth will gather at Joel and Lauren Rieber's house this Wednesday for their monthly gathering. Our youth group continues to grow in size and in spirit. It is an exciting time. Parents, be on the lookout for an update this week in the Band App for details. If you have any questions, reach out to Jamal Rayan.
Men, Let's Do Breakfast!
Our Seniors aren't the only ones eating good this week! Our quarterly Men's Breakfast will be this Saturday at 8:30 AM at the church. We're changing up our menu a little this month as we'll be having pancakes and all the fixin's. We hope that all our men can come for this time of fellowship, prayer, and great food.
NOTE: In light of this week's breakfast, our Friday Bible Study at Panera will be cancelled this week.
Save The Date For Vision Sunday
Just a reminder to mark your calendars for Vision Sunday on November 9th! We will have our special Vision Worship Service that morning at church, and then celebrate together that evening at our Fall Party at the home of Kerry and Debbie Major. More details are coming up soon!
This Week's Prayer List
Please join us in lifting up these members of our church family in prayer:
Debbie Major: recovering from knee replacement surgery.
Alan Hinkle: battling cancer.
Jacques Family: Tayler & Ernst welcomed a new baby this week!
Pregnancies at LHF: Jennifer Coffey & Samantha Holmes.
That's all the news for this week! We encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to gather with your church family. Whether through prayer, a meal, or a time of worship, let's continue to support and encourage one another as we fix our eyes on Jesus this week!
