Welcome to May, a month that holds a special place in the heart of Kentucky. This time of year brings a unique blend of celebration and reflection with events like the Kentucky Derby, Mother's Day, Cinco de Mayo, graduation ceremonies, and Memorial Day. It’s a busy season full of meaningful moments and community gatherings. As we step into this vibrant month, we invite you to explore all that is happening around LHF this week and in the weeks ahead. There is much to engage with, learn from, and celebrate together.
Sunday Recap: A New Series on Ruth
This past Sunday, Pastor Derek began an inspiring series through the book of Ruth. This Old Testament story is more than a tale of love; it is rich with gospel themes that resonate deeply with our faith journey. In chapter 1, we meet characters who are deeply hurt and broken, searching for hope in the midst of loss. Naomi and Ruth’s decision to return to Judah after losing everything in Moab sets the stage for a powerful message.
Pastor Derek highlighted two important truths from Ruth 1:
Sin has a devastating power: The pain and loss experienced by Naomi and Ruth remind us how sin can disrupt lives and bring despair.
God’s power of redemption offers hope and healing: Despite the darkness, God’s redeeming love shines through, promising restoration and new beginnings.
If you missed the message, you can watch it on our website, Facebook page, or YouTube channel. This series promises to bring encouragement and insight as we see God’s hand at work in the lives of ordinary people facing extraordinary challenges.

Your prayers and support mean a great deal to these members of our community and their families.
Celebrating our Graduates
LHF is proud to have three high school students set to graduate this month. Please remember to pray for Isaac Gill, Vivian Gill and Amisha Swanson this weekend as they will be defending their graduate thesis this Saturday. Their graduation ceremony is set for the following Saturday, May 16th. In celebration, the Gill and Swanson families extend the invitation to a special reception party for the three graduates on May 17th at the church...

Looking Ahead
As we look forward to next week, we anticipate another meaningful worship service that will continue to inspire and strengthen our faith. With Mother’s Day approaching, it is a wonderful time to honor and celebrate the mothers and mother figures in our lives. Whether through words, gifts, or acts of kindness, let’s take the opportunity to show appreciation for their love and sacrifice.
May is a month full of life and remembrance, and we are grateful to share it with you. Stay connected, stay encouraged, and join us as we walk through this season together.
Thank you for being part of the LHF family. We hope to see you at one of the events this week or next Sunday’s service.
