As we step into the first week of December, we hope everyone had a wonderful and meaningful Thanksgiving this past week, enjoying time with family and friends. We are now heading full speed into the Christmas season, and we have so many exciting opportunities for fellowship and worship this month! Please take a moment to look over the December Calendar below, featuring our Senior Christmas Gathering, Women's Christmas Brunch, Kids and Youth Christmas Party, and much more!
Weekend Wrap-Up
After a restful Thanksgiving weekend, it was a joy to gather again for Worship on Sunday. We officially kicked off the Advent Season with a focus on the Hope we have in Jesus as our Messiah. We were blessed to have Isaac and Vivian Gill lead us through our reading and candle lighting; a special thanks to our youth who will be leading this portion of our service every week through Advent.
Pastor Chris wrapped up our year-plus journey through the Gospel of Luke by looking at the often-overlooked event of the Ascension of Christ back to Heaven after His resurrection. Pastor Chris reminded us that the Ascension put into motion all the promises Jesus had made while He ministered on earth. Because of the Ascension:
Jesus began His work on preparing a place for His disciples.
He is in His place at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us.
We look forward to His glorious return.
It was a powerful ending to our study in Luke! If you missed the message, you can always find it on Facebook, YouTube, or our Website.
This Week's Advent Focus: Hope
The first week of Advent draws attention to the hope we have in Christ. Jesus' arrival in Bethlehem broke centuries of silence between God and His people. It also renewed and fulfilled the hope of the Messiah's redeeming and victorious work.
Each week through Advent, we want to provide you with the Scriptures and the reading from the worship service for you to use in your devotional time if you like.
